MANCHESTER -- The Burr and Burton Academy alpine teams each earned victories in the first meet of the year at Bromley on Thursday.

BBA scored 13 points, ahead of Woodstock's 29 and Rutland's 33.

The girls went 1-2-3, with Katie Bourque taking the top spot in 38.59 seconds. She was fourth after the first run, then blazed a 19.06 in the second run to take the win.

BBA's Sanderson Kemp and Olivia Burwell was second and third, a half-second behind Bourque.

Casey Apps (seventh) and Haley McGrath (11th) were the next two highest skiers.

On the boys side, BBA skiers finished third, fourth and fifth and seventh to take the team title with 19 points. Rutland and Woodstock were second and third.

BBA's Ben Alexopoulos was the fastest Bulldog down the mountain, taking a third-place finish in 36.02 seconds, 0.16 behind Rutland's Tyler Guth.

Andrew Sterras and Dylan Bibeau were fourth and fifth, 0.03 seconds apart.
