MANCHESTER - The Manchester District of the Green Mountain National Forest would like to thank all participants, sponsors, and volunteers who helped make the 22nd Annual Youth Fishing Day a success.

The event was held at Hapgood Pond Recreation Area in Peru on Saturday, June 9. Eighty-three ambitious kids showed up on a beautiful sunny day and participated in what turned out to be a great day for fishing, families, and fun. A total of 82 fish were caught. Special prizes were awarded to those who caught the longest fish and the most fish in the following age groups.

inch trout) and Lilly Strout (six nice trout); and in the 10-12 age group, Autumn Lavallee (a 13 1/2 inch trout) and Tyler Cyr (six nice trout).

Special thanks goes to the Southwestern Vermont Chapter of Trout Unlimited, in particular Chrissy Penn and all the others that helped. Their cooperation through partnership made this event happen.
