The Tritons had a strong day in the water, defeating visiting Woodstock 417 to 164.
It was a strong day for Manchester on the girls side, with the Tritons earning top finishes in quite a few races and even more second and third place ribbons.
In the girls eight and under age group, Rowan Russell came in first in the 25 yard freestyle, 25 yard backstroke, and third place in the 50 yard freestyle. In the nine and 10 year old girls age group, Manchester went 1-2-3 in the 25 yard freestyle, Mary Garay coming in first, Piper Russell taking second and May Thomson took third. Carol Herbert came in third place in the 25 yard breaststroke and second in the 50 yard freestyle, while Russell came in third in the 25 yard backstroke and Alair Powers came in second in the 25 yard breaststroke to round out the top finishes in that age group.
The 11 and 12 year old girls had a strong day for the Tritons as well, with a lot of second and third place ribbons to grab important points. Shaana Staab came in second in the 100 yard individual
For the older girls, 13-14, 15-16 and 17-19 year old categories, the Tritons were competing mainly against each other. 14-year-old Kylee Mayne was first in the 50 yard freestyle and the 50 yard breaststroke, 16-year-old Emelie Severance took first in the 50 yard freestyle and the 50 yard backstroke, and second in the 50 yard butterfly and 100 yard freestyle, 16-year-old Eliza Farley came in the top spot in 40 yard butterfly and 13-year-old Jenna Staab took first in the 100 yard freestyle.
On the boys side, the Tritons got some top performance from all the age groups. Calvin Parent took first place in the 25 yard freestyle, while Liam Walsh took first in the same event.
Aidan Vogel was a top performer for Manchester in the nine and 10 year old category, taking first in the 25 yard freestyle, 25 yard breaststroke, 50 yard freestyle, and second in the 25 yard backstroke. Simon Vogel took first in the 25 yard breaststroke, while Aedan Walsh took second in the 50 yard freestyle, and Chapin Eyre took second place in the 25 yard freestyle.
In the boys 11 and 12 year old category, Riley Vogel took second in the 50 yard freestyle, and 50 yard breaststroke, while Logan Sands took third in the 50 yard freestyle, 50 yard backstroke, and first in the 50 yard breaststroke. Ned Thompson was the other strong finisher for Manchester, taking second in the 50 yard backstroke and first in the 100 yard freestyle.
Nikolai Sands took first in the 13-14 year old 50 yard freestyle for the Tritons, while Andrew Spencer came in third in the 50 yard freestyle, first in the 50 yard backstroke and the 50 yard breaststroke.
Isaac Emery was the top performer for the Woodstock Swim Team, coming in first place in 50 yard backstroke and the 50 yard freestyle.
The Manchester Tritons swim team will return to the pool on Tuesday, July 3, at the Manchester Rec Park when they take on the team from Bennington.
