MANCHESTER - On Friday, April 25, at 7 p.m. Counterpoint, the popular a cappella singing group, along with the First Congregational Church Chancel Choir and singers from BBA, will perform a group of varied musical selections, both individually and as an assembled choir.

Counterpoint will perform folk songs, "Ave Maria" by Verdi, and a contemporary song title "Prayer of Peace."

The Chancel Choir and BBA singers are combining to sing the spiritual "Hold Steady with the Gate" and a lovely setting of Tennyson's poem "A Farewell." The mass numbers, involving all three groups, will be Stroope's "Omnia Sol" and Lauridsen's "Sure on this Shining Night." The program will also contain a tribute to Peter Seeger with Counterpoint singing a few arrangements of his songs along with an audience sing-a-long accompanied by Mark Madison on guitar.

The program will conclude with Nathaniel Lew's arrangement of the Vermont state anthem "These Green Mountains."

Admission is $5 and the concert will be held in the sanctuary of First Congregational Church in Manchester.
