An open letter to The Weston Playhouse Theater Company: Seeing a picture of the Weston Playhouse's new studio theater in the Manchester Journal (Aug. 1) was extremely upsetting. I understand how an organization involved with 'the Arts' may feel a need to express some creativity. I also understand that this particular design may reflect an attempt to be green or energy efficient but if the architectural rendition of this addition is, in fact, the final design, I am very concerned that this may be the first step in changing the character of Weston, which is one of Vermont's quintessential historic villages. Please reconsider the design of this addition. Surely you can come up with something that is more in keeping with the architectural style of the rest of the village.
