To the Editor:

The Mark Skinner Library recently hosted "An Evening of Holiday Memories." This very special evening was the library's gift to the community, but it was a gift largely made possible through the assistance of many volunteers, the generosity of the performers who donated their time and talent and several local sponsors.

The library was transformed into a winter wonderland thanks to the considerable efforts of BBA maintenance crew members John Brochu, Joal Secoy, Tracy Stevens, and Paul Williams, and MSL volunteers Frank Kropa and Curt Merrow. Seasonal decorations were provided by Christmas Days. Special thanks are extended to Franci Carieri at BBA for her help with logistics.

The Dorset Players' talented cast of "It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play" and director Angie Merwin transported us back to the 1940s for a glimpse of the delightful production. Musician, pianist and vocalist Saragail Benjamin and her students from the GMALL drumming workshop entertained us with Hanukkah and Christmas stories and songs and created a fun and welcoming environment that encouraged audience participation. Exceptional hors d'oeuvres were donated by Mulligan's Restaurant, The Reluctant Panther, Silver Fork and Sushi Boat. In addition, MSL's Cookie Brigade (Pat Bennett, Carol Berry, Linda Drunsic, Ellie Dyett, Linda McKeever, Judy Paris, Kathie Peltz, and Chris Rose) offered up an impressive array of desserts.
