NORTH RUPERT — There will be a free workshop at North Rupert Wildlife Day Saturday, May 10 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Calfee Barn, Rt. 30 in North Rupert. Sponsored by Home and Habitat. The workshop presentations will be:
— Black bears and their habitat, presented by Forrest Hammond, VT Fish and Game biologist
— Turkeys and their habitat, presented by Doug Blogett, VT State biologist
— Amphibians, roads and riparian areas: The little things do matter, presented by Alan Calfee, forester and conservationist
— Making good use of your local game warden, questions and answers with Travis Buttle.
After the presentations, tour a local one-acre habitat clear cut. Have a local lunch ($8), prepared with locally-produced ingredients, when possible. Reserve by May 3. Leave a message at 325-3914.
