MANCHESTER — The American Red Cross will hold a Blood Drive Wednesday, May 14, 12 to 5:30 p.m. at the Congregational Church of Manchester. Donors should bring a blood donor card, photo ID, or two forms of ID.
Participants can donate blood even with: diabetes; hypertension (no higher than 180/100 on day of donation); taking most medications; donors 75 and older are subject to extra health-related questions; as long as at least 17 years old and weight is 110 or over; body piercing done with a sterile or single use needle within the last 12 months; travel to a malarial area more than a year ago; most cancers, after five years from last treatment without reoccurrence; MS, Lupus and medically treated heart conditions.
Giving blood is safe and simple. Walk-ins welcome, or make an appointment (acceptance criteria subject to change) by calling Kristi at 1-800-843-3500 ext. 3265.
There will be a Red Sox ticket promotion. Wilcox Dairy, Bagel Works, and Mrs. Murphy's Donuts have helped make this blood drive happen.
