DORSET -- At approximately 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 4, the Vermont State Police responded to a multi-vehicle crash on VT RT 30 in the Town of Dorset.

When police arrived on scene they observed a 2013 Nissan with extensive front end damage.The Nissan was at a position of uncontrolled rest within the south bound lane. The operator of the vehicle, Christina Cole of Granville N.Y., had been transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center for evaluation.

Two other vehicles involved, a 2012 Subaru Outback operated by Rodger Hill and a 2012 Chevy pickup operated by Kenneth Bordwell were at positions of controlled rest parked on the south bound shoulder. The Subaru had extensive damage to the rear end and the Chevy had minimal damage to the rear bumper. All three vehicles were travelling south on VT RT 30 when an unidentified vehicle several cars ahead stopped to make a left turn.

Bordwell and Hill were able to stop their vehicles without incident however Cole was unable to stop. Cole collided with Hill causing a chain reaction of collisions. Inattention and following too closely were the contributing causes of the crash. Cole was ticketed. All operators were wearing their seatbelts. There were no injuries reported from this crash.
