ARLINGTON - An Arlington man was arrested last Friday after he collided with a parked police car around 9:30 p.m.

A State Trooper was handling a complaint in the area of 395 Warm Brook Road on Friday when Nicholas Woodard, 29, crashed into the trooper's vehicle.

According to a police report, the trooper had parked his cruiser off the shoulder of Warm Brook Road at the end of the driveway while investigating the complaint. Shortly after parking the cruiser, the trooper heard a loud crash and observed Woodard's vehicle had collided with it. Woodard was not injured, however he was suspected of being intoxicated.

Woodard was subsequently administered dexterity exercises, which he failed. Woodard was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI and was transported to the Vermont State Police barracks in Shaftsbury to be processed. Further testing revealed Woodard was over twice the legal limit of .08 percent BAC (Blood Alcohol Content). Woodard was cited to appear in Bennington County Superior Court, Criminal Division on a later date to answer to the charge of DUI, according to the police report.
