JAMAICA -- On Tuesday, Sept. 11, shortly after 8:30 a.m., Vermont State Police received a 911 call of a two vehicle crash involving a car and a tractor trailer on Route 30 in the town of Jamaica.

According to a press release issued by the state police Troopers, along Fire, Rescue, and Dept. of Motor Vehicles personnel responded to the scene.

An investigation revealed that Jacob Matyas, 22, of Jamaica, was traveling northbound on Route 30 in the area of Kearny Oil when he pulled into a pull off. According to the police, Laszlo Lindinger, 56, of Enfield, Conn., who was driving a 2008 Tractor Trailer was traveling behind Matyas, and also traveling northbound. Matyas attempted to make a u-turn and travel south on Route 30. However, he did not notice Lindinger approaching and was struck on the driver's side by the tractor trailer. Matyas was transported to Grace Cottage Hospital for apparent minor injuries. Coleman's auto towed Matyas's vehicle while Lindinger drove away from the scene under his own power.

Matyas was transported to Grace Cottage Hospital due to lacerations of the head.

No court action is scheduled, according to the police report.
