MANCHESTER -- A Manchester man was taken to the Southern Vermont Medical Center Friday, Aug. 31, when the pick up truck he was driving veered off the road and collided with a tree. According to the Vermont State Police, at approximately 2 p.m., the State Police responded to a one vehicle accident on Vermont Route 7A in the Town of Manchester. The accident was witnessed by the Vermont State Police.

Donald Baker, 44, was driving his 1990 Ford Ranger south on Route 7A when his vehicle veered off the roadway and into a tree on the south bound shoulder. The accident appeared to be caused by a medical condition, the Vermont State Police are continuing to investigate. Baker suffered a deep laceration to his head and was brought by rescue to SVMC for evaluation. Baker's passenger, Travis Baker, 21, did not suffer any injuries during the crash
