MANCHESTER - The Northshire Bookstore is seriously considering opening a second bookstore. The location is Saratoga Springs, NY.,according to a press statement released Friday, Aug. 3, by the bookstore.

Chris Morrow, co-owner of Northshire, said, "We have looked at opening a second store numerous times over the years but it never seemed right. Saratoga Springs will be a great book town. It is vibrant, the various elements of the community work together for the betterment of the town and there are tremendous assets which bring people to town - the race track, SPAC, Skidmore College, City Center convention center and many more."

The area has also seen growth due to the enormous computer chip plan in nearby Malta, NY. Borders Group had a store anchoring downtown Saratoga Springs and customers of Northshire have been asking for them to open a store there since Borders went bankrupt in the spring of 2011. Morrow is now looking for investors to help make this dream become a reality.

When asked how this would effect the Manchester Center location, Morrow has this to say, "The Northshire Bookstore in Manchester will remain a primary focus. Our offerings and service will not diminish. In fact, part of the motivation of a second store is that it will allow us to offer more to our customers in the future; it will strengthen our position."
