Meg Kenny brings more than 20 years of education experience to Burr and Burton Academy, most recently serving as Dean of Faculty, teacher and Social Studies Department Chairperson.
Ms. Kenny began her teaching career at Burr and Burton in 1998. She previously taught at Manchester Elementary Middle School in Manchester and at Shelburne Community School in Shelburne.
Meg Kenny earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Saint Michael's College in Colchester, and completed the Teacher Certification Program with Secondary Licensure in Social Studies there. Additionally, she was a Christa McAuliffe Teaching Fellow and adjunct instructor for Southern New Hampshire University where she taught curriculum and assessment graduate level courses. She has also attended and presented at numerous conferences and served as an academic leader on various committees.
Currently, she is the co-chairwoman of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) re-accreditation process at Burr and Burton Academy.
In her new position, she will continue to teach Economics, serve as advisor, and act as Dean of Faculty.
"I am genuinely excited to assume the role as Assistant Headmaster at Burr and Burton" said Kenny.
Kenny is married to Todd Ameden and resides in Manchester. He is a Burr and Burton graduate, class of 1981, and was recently inducted into the BBA Athletic Hall of Fame. They have two young sons - both students at Manchester Elementary School.
