MANCHESTER - Maple Street School students have collaborated with Sarah Hadden, founder and director of KURA, to support Kids United for Rural Africa.

In a series of fundraisers and projects, students raised over $1,000 this past school year to support the efforts to improve health and economic stability in the Laisamis District of Marsabit of Northern Kenya.

"I am proud that our students understand and believe in international community service as it creates unique and unparalleled learning opportunities for all ages," said Head of School Fran Bisselle.

Community service is a core value at Maple Street School, and this project is particularly special as representatives from this tribe have come to Maple Street to explain how the students' contributions make a direct impact of the lives of children in this area.

Maple Street School is an independent day school serving children in grades Kindergarten through eighth grade.
