In support of craft beer

I'm afraid that Bryan Westford, whose now twice-printed letter eloquently defended beer studies at UVM and chided what he took to be my alarm at the new program, may have misread my earlier letter. I am all for university support of this growing Vermont craft industry; in fact I hope to benefit from it, indirectly. I was merely having a little fun with the idea of beer as an object of college study when it has so often served as... an alternative. There are no courses in sustainable drinking at UVM: that was a joke! I'm with Berta Maginnis, who said at a recent BCRC meeting on economic development, "Everything is better with beer."
