Gail Woll, librarian for the Dorset Village Public Library, retired quietly on April 30 after nearly 15 years of service to the Dorset community.
During Gail's years with the library she not only brought its members current books and magazines, but also CDs, audiobooks, movies, computer services, free audiobook downloads, online foreign language classes, and book discussion groups from the Vermont Council on Humanities. She created special activities for children, the latest being a Lego Club. She decorated the library with bunnies for Easter, leprechauns for St. Patrick's Day, Santas for Christmas, and offered candy hearts for Valentine's Day. She loved her job and was always looking for something new to offer her visitors and members.
Gail will miss her many friends in Dorset, but may not miss her daily commute from Granville. She plans to return to quilting, one of her loves, and to do some traveling in her free time. Dorset will also miss Gail and we all wish her well as she pursues new adventures and challenges in her retirement.
