How disappointing! Journal readers beware. John McClaughry (Opinion, Oct. 18 Journal, "Climate change snafu") continues spewing skewed and discredited claptrap regarding global warming. No matter that many international scientists and bone fide scientific organizations have labored for decades to clarify the cause and probable impacts of climate change McClaughry, seeming apologist for the fossil fuel industry, continues to promulgate misinformation and selectively cite questionable sources to dismiss the scientists' work.
No matter that precision and diligent balanced attention to facts are critical to fairly understanding this issue he uses the same old distorted arguments repeatedly shown to be false or misleading.
It appears that McClaughry hopes that misinformation blatantly repeated often enough will sow the seeds of doubt and foster inaction. His article's conclusion is a non-sequitur - international conspiracy stuff - possibly amusing were the issue not so important.
