To the Editor:

I have served in the Vermont Senate for several years. In this time I have experienced many personalities, some professional, others partisan. At the end of the day, Vermonters expect professionalism from their elected officials. That is why I am endorsing Beth Pearce for State Treasurer.

Since becoming Treasurer in 2011, Beth has assembled an impressive record.

She understands the nuances of finance, and is willing to work collaboratively to save taxpayer dollars. This no-nonsense approach has strengthened Vermont's bottom line.

We need a proven leader at the helm of the Office of Treasurer. There is too much at stake to accept the alternative.

Vermont is on the cusp of several important reforms, not the least of which health care reform. The legislature has deemed health care a public good. Beth Pearce is the only candidate for Treasurer equipped with the expertise to ensure health care reform is a lasting success.

Beth's opponent, Wendy Wilton, states that she will oppose health care reform at all costs. We cannot afford an ideological stand off or partisan gridlock. Vermonters want reforms to benefit their bottom line.

As State Treasurer, Beth Pearce will do the analysis up front to make sure health care reform is done right, to benefit the taxpayer.

On November 6, vote for the candidate of trusted professionalism. Vote Beth Pearce for State Treasurer.
