To the residents Of East Dorset, on July 20th my OpEd "Do The Right Thing, Dorset" appeared in the Manchester Journal.
It addressed our town's highway facility on Village Street in East Dorset.
Since then it has spawned a spirited discussion on both sides of the issue.
Unfortunately some of this discussion has become mean-spirited and unfairly directed at Sue. This was not my intention. Sue did not write the letter.
She did nothing wrong. Blaming her is like kicking the dog because the car won't start. It may feel good, but it's not fair to the dog.
I wrote the letter without Sue's input. And she, like you, read it for the first time when it appeared in the Manchester Journal.
For those of you acquainted with Sue, you know her to be a hardworking, dedicated and caring woman with a warm smile and great wit. She is deserving of the same respect and consideration that we all desire.
The letter I wrote expressed my opinions and feelings. I stand by them. If you agree or disagree, let me know. Sue didn't agree with everything I said. I don't expect you too either.
