BELLOWS FALLS >> Four people were arrested on Westminster Street just past midnight on Wednesday.
According to a press release from the Bellows Falls Police Department, over the past few months officers have been actively investigating the distribution of crack cocaine in the Village of Bellows Falls. As a result of the investigation, a search warrant for an apartment located at 7 Westminster St., commonly referred to as the "Stairside" apartments, was secured. Officers, along with K9 Caesar, and members of the Walpole, N.H., Police Department executed the search warrant. Officer First Class Mario Checchi deployed K9 Caesar in the interior of the apartment, which alerted to the presence of drug odors where crack Ccocaine was located.
As a result, Gary Lescord Jr., 33, of Bellows Falls, was taken into custody after he was found hiding in a closet. He was cited with violating the conditions of his release. In addition, Darlene Derby, 44, also of Bellows Falls, was cite with aiding in the commission of a felony. Robbull Bryant, 36, of Brooklyn, N.Y., was taken into custody on an outstanding arrest warrant and cited with possession of cocaine, and Tara M. Villeneuve, 29, of Franklin, N.H., was also taken into custody on an outstanding arrest warrant.
Lescord was released on conditions per the Windham County Superior Court-Criminal Division; Villeneuve was lodged at the Southern State Correctional Facility on her warrants; Bryant was ordered held on $10,000 cash or surety bond along with his warrant; and Derby was ordered held on $5,000 cash or surety bond with conditions. Bryant and Derby were also lodged at the Southern State Correctional Facility for lack of bail.
