Advent season arrives
ARLINGTON >> The Advent season is about to begin, a time of watching, waiting and preparing for the birth of Christ. St. James' Episcopal Church, on Route 7A in Arlington, announces the following schedule of Advent services, led by interim pastor, the Very Rev. Christopher David, with music under the direction of Daniel Frank, organist.
Thursday, Dec. 24 — Christmas Eve services at 4 p.m. and 10 p.m.
Friday, Dec. 25 — Christmas service at 9 a.m.
Sunday, Dec. 27 — Lessons and Carols at 9 a.m., followed by the community-wide Messiah performance at 4 p.m. (Details about this popular annual sing-along will be provided closer to the concert.)

East Dorset Congregational to hold Christmas Eve service
EAST DORSET >> East Dorset Congregational Church is holding a Christmas Eve service on Thursday, December 24 at 7 p.m. The service will be held in the church on Mad Tom Road in East Dorset. All are welcome.
'Ultimate Christmas Party' planned
MANCHESTER >> All kids are invited to the "Ultimate Christmas Party," hosted by Northshire Baptist Church and held in the Manchester Community Library Lower Level Gallery on Saturday morning, Dec. 19, 10:30-Noon. The event includes games, songs, treats, and the Christmas story as told in the Bible. All children in the community are invited to this free event the Saturday before Christmas. Sunday Worship Before Christmas at Northshire Baptist Church
The Sunday Worship Service before Christmas at Northshire Baptist Church will be held Dec. 20 at 11 a.m. (5769 Main St Manchester Center). All are invited to a Christmas Eve Service at Northshire Baptist Church (5769 Main St Manchester Center) at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 24. This one hour worship service will prepare hearts for Christmas through singing Christmas carols, reading Scripture that guides through the Christmas story, and lighting the last candle of Advent. There will also be a few songs sung by the children of Northshire Baptist and a special Christmas Eve story read to the children. Christmas Eve service set for So. Londonderry church
SOUTH LONDONDERRY >> First Baptist Church will be holding a Christmas Eve Service on Dec. 24 at 6 p.m. The church currently meets at the Londonderry Town Hall, which is located at 139 Middletown Road in South Londonderry. This family friendly service will include singing Christmas carols, reading about Jesus' birth, and listening to a meditation. At the end of the service, they have the tradition of sharing the light of Christ by giving candles out and sharing the flame with one another. All are welcome to join in on this special service. Candlelight service set for Londonderry
LONDONDERRY >> The community is invited to the Christmas Eve service, Thursday, Dec. 24 at the Second Congregational Church in Londonderry.The church is located at 2051 Vermont Route 11 in Londonderry.
The service is at 5:30 p.m. and will be a traditional service of Lessons, Carols and Candlelight.

Christmas celebration at Dorset United Church
DORSET >> United Church of Dorset and East Rupert invites the community to their Christmas celebrations.
The Community is invited to join us at the United Church of Dorset and East Rupert for the celebration of Christmas on Thursday, Dec. 24. There will be two services.
The family service will begin at 4:30 p.m. It will include a Christmas story, a special time with the young. Soloist, Marcia Holland singing both the gathering and offertory songs and congregational candle lighting.
The second service will begin at 8 p.m. and will include Communion and congregational candle lighting. The gathering music will be played by Alìx Raspé, harpist. The choir will be singing as well.
There are no services on Christmas Day.
On Sunday, Dec. 27 at 10 a.m. a service of Lessons and Carols will be held.

Christmas Eve in Peru
PERU >> The Peru Congregational Church invites all to join them at their Christmas Eve service. Created forty years ago by the late Kermit Reilly, this gathering is a favorite for both mountain and valley folks. Dr. Roger Fox will be conducting the community choir, Judy Cyr is the organist and Pastor Margaret will be delivering a sermon entitled "Ruined." First Congregational Church offers Christmas Eve services
MANCHESTER VILLAGE >> On Thursday, Dec. 24, a A brief Family service (30-40 minutes long) for families with young children at 5:30 p.m., featuring traditional carols. At 7 p.m., a traditional Candlelight Service of Lessons and Carols will take place, featuring FCC's Chancel Choir and the Tall Spire Ringers handbell choir. there will be no services on Christmas Day.
