LONDONDERRY >> What is Pedorthics? According to the Pedorthic Footwear Association website, "Pedorthics is the management and treatment of conditions of the foot, ankle, and lower extremities requiring fitting, fabricating and adjusting pedorthic devices." Pedorthics uses footwear to ease and treat foot-related problems.

On Monday, June 20 at 2 p.m., Gretchen Lima, a Certified Pedorthist will be at The Meeting Place @ Neighborhood Connections to discuss how she modifies footwear to help people maintain or regain their mobility.

"Most people have not had their feet measured in 15-30 years," says Gretchen, who works as a Pedorthist at Manchester's Family Footwear Center, "and are wearing the wrong size or type shoe. Many times they could benefit from arch support or cushions. I specialize in fitting shoes on arthritic, diabetic and hard to fit feet." She will be measuring feet at this presentation.

This lecture is offered at no charge, but reservations are a must, so call 824-4343 to attend.
