Described as life-changing by many, this workshop, developed by Stanford University, will help participants gain control of their symptoms with humor and grace.
Participants will learn how to better communicate with their healthcare providers, friends and family; stay optimistic; cope with frustrations; manage pain; de-stress and relax; beat fatigue; and how to reduce depressed feelings.
Those with long-term diseases such as arthritis, diabetes, cancer, COPD, heart or lung disease, or fibromyalgia, are encouraged to attend. Family and supportive friends are also welcome.
The workshop also covers appropriate use of medications, tips for improved nutrition, and how to evaluate new health treatments.
Men and women who have completed this free workshop report less stress, more confidence, higher energy levels, and fewer trips to the doctor's office.
