"We have had Mr. Richards play for us before and the residents loved his performance," said Ann Bouza, executive director at Equinox Terrace Assisted Living. "This will be a lovely evening by the fireplace where everyone can enjoy each other's company and listen to beautiful music."
Archie Richards, in addition to being a fabulous piano player, was previously a stockbroker, financial planner and a journalist who focused on financial issues. Playing the piano is something he has done his entire life, and he decided to turn it into his third career. In 1970, his piano teacher, Kyriena Siloti, who was then in her 80s, was the daughter and student of Alexander Siloti, a renowned Russian pianist. Mr. Siloti was in turn a student of Franz Liszt who is considered one of the greatest pianists who ever lived.
"To say that Mr. Richards' music is wonderful is an understatement," said Bouza. "We are excited to invite members of the community to share in our love of his talent, and everyone is guaranteed to leave swooning."
