WESTON - As the year end approaches and folks look back it is clear that The Little School in Weston has a lot to be thankful for. The students and staff of the school have been blessed to be the recipients of many improvement projects to help keep the idyllic 1861 schoolhouse in tip top shape.
The Little School would like to thank the Town of Weston for using The School House Fund to replace the outdated furnace and heating units in all the classrooms which was done by Piper Hill Plumbing and Heating. In conjunction with the new energy efficient heating system the school itself has funded projects with Red Barn Design and with Vermont Foam Insulation to help keep the heat in and reduce fuel oil consumption.
The Town of Weston has also committed to starting a much appreciated bathroom renovation project to be done by Joslyn Brothers Construction. The Little School also successfully raised the funds last year to purchase and install a new PVC white picket style fence for our playground, which has been installed by Springfield Fence and will require almost no upkeep over the coming years. The fence installation was capped off by a wonderful stonework walkway donated by Sugarock Landscaping. We are looking to continue our playground and garden projects in the New Year, working with the Weston Vermont Country Store Community Action Team.
The Little School is so grateful for the dedication and support they have received from the Town of Weston and the surrounding community.
