STRATTON MOUNTAIN - Stratton Mountain School is pleased to announce the addition of Deborah Newson to the athletic staff as freestyle program director. Newson has spent the past 18 years at Killington Mountain School (KMS) in a range of positions in the sport of freestyle, but most recently as assistant head of school. In her role as assistant head of KMS, Newson was responsible for day-to-day operations, admissions, marketing and communications, human resources, student life, residential life, student support and enrollment management.

As the SMS freestyle program director and coach, Newson brings years of experience and success in the sport of freestyle to SMS. As the former KMS Freestyle program director and coach, she was named the USSA Development Coach of the Year in 2010. She has also served as chairperson of USSA Eastern Division Freestyle-Freeskiing since 2002. With accomplished athletes at every level of the sport, including: EQS Bs, ECS As, junior nationals, nor-ams, junior worlds, us nationals, world cup and the Olympics, SMS is surely to continue its tradition of excellence with the freestyle program.
