BONDVILLE - The Mountain School at Winhall (MSW) welcomes all incoming Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten families to register for the 2013-2014 Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten programs. The Mountain School's Pre-Kindergarten program has again been awarded five star accreditation, the state's highest possible ranking, via the Vermont Department for Children and Families' STARS (STep Ahead Recognition System) initiative.

A quality recognition system for childcare, preschool and afterschool programs, STARS assesses providers in five areas: compliance with state regulations; staff qualifications and training; interaction with and overall support of children, families, and communities; how thoroughly providers assess what they do and plan for improvements; and the strength of the program's operating policies and business practices. Additionally, MSW's Kindergarten program is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, the same accrediting body of Harvard University.

With an average class size of only nine students, as well as an average of over 30 year's experience in early childhood education for each faculty member, The Mountain School is able to provide a rigorous yet personalized education in a safe, supportive environment. Students learn through integrated, thematic learning with a focus on creative and explorative experiences, which enhance critical thinking and problem solving. Students must be 4 years of age by October 31 to enter Pre-K, and 5 years of age by October 31 to enter Kindergarten.
