PAWLET - Tickets for Mettawee Mania 2013, A Talent Extravaganza are on sale now at the Mettawee Community School.

Mania '13 will be show director Rod Hawkins' last Mettawee "talent extravaganza" as he has accepted an offer to direct the Miss Vermont Scholarship pageant beginning this summer.

His Mettawee Mania "swan song" production will be held on Saturday, March 9, beginning at 7 p.m.

From first year performers Mettawee students Rowen Russell, Piper Russell and Finley Mayer to veterans Tom Leypoldt and Luke Hawkins, this year's performers come from the host township of Pawlet as well as Poultney, Rutland and Arlington. There are solo acts such as Mettawee graduate Chelsey Horner and current MCS student Jade Marantz, as well as family acts such as Carrie Anne Smith and her brothers Ben and Thano (all Mettawee graduates) and the Evans family.

New to Mania this year are Emily Marks (Granville, N.Y.), Maya Kraus (Arlington) and Katie Lawrence (E. Dorset). But there are plenty of past favorites too: Dorothy Leach's Dance Group (featuring Dot, Deb Hawkins, Sue Laporte, Carrie Anne Smith and Molly Beverage) and solo singers Amy Orvis, Seana Stevens and Kim Warren. Rounding out the cast are returnees: Emily Powers (Granville), Terry Wheeler, Grant Gallagher, Cameron Gallagher (Granville), Brent Tuttle- (Granville) and Anna Foster (Pawlet).

This year's Mettawee Mania emcee is Chelsea Ingram, Miss Vermont 2012, who is currently a meteorologist for Fox 44 and ABC 22 out of Colchester.

Ingram - who performed Habanera from the opera "Carmen" at the Miss America Pageant in Las Vegas in January - will sing at the event. Prices are: Adults $7; Seniors and Students $5; 3 and under - Free.
