A variety of hands-on sessions, lesson demonstrations, and programs of interest will be offered to formal (Pre-K - 12) and informal educators and community members.
In the spirit of the symposium theme, "Inspired Teachers Inspire Learners," Maple Street is committed to bringing inspiration to all who attend. The keynote speaker, David Carmel, co-founder of Jumpstart for Young Children, a national early education organization that recruits and trains college students and community Corps members to serve preschool children in low-income neighborhoods, will share his story. He created an organization that helps children develop the language and literacy skills necessary for school. His is an inspirational story of how one person can make a difference in the lives of many. There will be a variety of breakout sessions geared to the needs and interests of our audience. From nutrition and well being with Diana Pagnucco, a local health coach, to retiring with confidence with Brenna Warren, a financial planner from the Bank of Bennington, the symposium seeks to enlighten participants about taking care of one's self in order to be inspirational to others.
The event includes breakfast, lunch, keynote address, and two breakout sessions at a cost of $75.
