"Since 2007, we've seen to it that all of our middle schoolers, grades five through eight, have personal laptops," said Daren Houck, Head of School. "We've opted to make the transition to tablet-based technology starting this year for fifth and sixth graders. Seventh and eighth graders will have access to iPads and will become acclimated to the new platform, but will continue using their laptops for course work."
Students will be using their iPads to access the Internet for course work and word processing, and will use education-based apps for vocabulary, spelling and social studies as well as math, music and art.
Additionally, grades one through four will be using a mobile cart of iPads for all of their word processing and Internet access.
The Mountain School at Winhall is an accredited Pre-K-8 independent community school in Bondville, Vermont.
