BENNINGTON - The Walloomsac Farmers' Market, Bennington County's only year-round market, will take place at the First Baptist Church in Bennington on the first and third Saturday in March and April (March 16, April 6, and April 20) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Church is on West Main (Route 9) at Valentine Street in Bennington.

Shop the market for locally grown produce (greens are in), dairy products, eggs, and meats; baked goods, jams and maple syrup; arts and crafts of many kinds; and more.

On March 16, musicians Sarah and Scott Sanfilippo will perform and a knife sharpening demonstration will be given. Those interested may bring their knife for their own personal tutorial.

On Saturday, April 20, musician Garth Green will perform, and students from Bennington College will help the Market celebrate Earth Day. Beginning Saturday, May 4, the Walloomsac Farmers' Market will be outdoors at the Bennington Station riverside park on Depot Street, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., every Saturday through October. Tuesday markets, at Greenbergs in Bennington, will begin in June.
