MANCHESTER - The Mark Skinner Library Well-Being Day for Mind, Body, & Spirit on Saturday, Jan. 5, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

At 11 a.m., John Newman will explore "Living a Mindful Life." Newman will present a guided meditation practice that points to the natural human capacity to experience themselves as competent, compassionate, and open. He has been meditating in the Tibetan and Shambhala tradition since the mid-70s, and has taught numerous mediation programs. Newman is affiliated with the Manchester Shambhala Meditation Group. When not practicing meditation, he practices law in Rutland Vermont.

During the noon hour, Lynn Grieger will teach those in attendance how to reduce stress through diet. Attendees will have a nutritious, light lunch while gleaning stress-less eating tips. Grieger is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator with experience in hospitals, outpatient clinics, and private practice. She is also a certified health and wellness coach and personal trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine.

At 1 p.m., Carol Berry will discuss ways to lessen stress through the use of chemical free solutions in our homes and environment. Berry is a lecturer, artist, and student of herbalism.

Pauline Gardner will lead a yoga class at 2 p.m. Regular practitioners enjoy greater flexibility, an enhanced sense of well-being, and heightened awareness of the body. Those planning to attend should wear loose, comfortable clothing.

Gardner is employed at the Equinox Resort and Spa. She is a personal trainer and certified yoga, Pilates and Zumba instructor.
