MANCHESTER CENTER >> There will be dancing in the streets, toasts galore and great food plus some of the most talented vendors and creative community organizations at the summer's second Streetfest on Main Street Friday, July 15 from 6-9 p.m. The event is free of charge.

Headlining the evening will be FUNKintheTRUNK, one of the area's most popular bands. They will be performing Motown, soul and funk songs that will keep your hands clapping and your feet tapping. Fronted by keyboardist/singer Nicki Skipper, the band's multicultural/multigenerational membership includes Sam Clement on guitar, Joe Wiley on bass, Adam Turner on drums, a horn section (featuring Jake Hill on tenor sax, David Vincent on alto sax, and Bill Tock on trumpet) and a vocal section (composed of Linda Allard, Kim Turner and Kiah Morris). Featuring searing guitar solos, soaring vocal harmonies, powerful horns and a super-funky rhythm section, it is a high energy show for all ages.

Food fare will be provided by Mach's Wood-Fired Pizza and Raven's Den Steakhouse. Desserts will be on the menu at Nana Kay's Bakery serving up lemon pound cake, zesty ginger zaps and coconut macaroons to name a few. Beer and wine, available for consumption on the street throughout the event will be provided by The Perfect Wife Restaurant and Tavern.

The July 15 event is the last summer streetfest presented by the Town of Manchester. Main Street will be closed beginning at 4 p.m. from the Mountain Goat until Thai Basil. Parking is available at MEMS and in the municipal lot behind Rite Aid. Due to expected crowds, no dogs are allowed. A limited number of vendor spaces are available.
