MANCHESTER >> The Town of Manchester has announce d the schedule for its annual Independence day Celebration. Events will be held on Sunday, July 3.
The rain date for just the fireworks display is Saturday, July 9.
The highlight of the day are the evening fireworks presentation that will begin at 9:30 p.m. This year's fireworks will be choreographed to famous Hollywood movie soundtracks. The fireworks will be at the Dana L. Thompson Memorial Park located at 340 Recreation Park Road. Parking is limited at Dana L. Thompson Memorial Park. Lions Field will be used for overflow parking. Additional parking is available downtown, at Manchester Elementary Middle School, and at Riley Rink.
As in past years, the pool will be open during the day from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. free of charge. The Misty Blues will entertain the crowd on Applejack Field before the fireworks from 5:15 p.m. - 8:45 p.m.. Also, the Manchester Parks and Recreation Department will be vending food from 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. at the new AppleJack Field Concession Stand (northwest corner) . The menu includes summertime favorites: hotdogs, hamburgers, drinks, fresh popped popcorn and ice cream treats.
The Independence Day Celebration is sponsored by the Town of Manchester and its taxpayers , the Vermont Summer Festival , Manchester Sotheby's Four Seasons and Langway Chevrolet of Manchester.
