MANCHESTER >> During the months of June and July, Yarns for Your Soul will be continuing their charity knitting campaign, "Knit for Your Soul and Theirs."

Yarns for Your Soul will collect hand-knitted or crocheted shawls of all shapes and sizes. The shawls will be donated to the Project Against Violent Encounters (PAVE,) which serves Bennington County.

PAVE is an organization that provides a 24-hour hotline, advocacy and support groups to victims of domestic and/or sexual violence. Shawls console, comfort, hug, beautify and give solace. Recipients of handmade shawls are given hope to overcome hardship.

Yarn can be comprised of any fiber and designs are up to the individual knitter and crocheter. Visit the shop to pick up a free shawl pattern. Volunteers who donate shawls to the cause, will receive a coupon for 10 percent off a future purchase. To learn to knit or crochet, call the shop to schedule a one hour "learn to stitch" class, at (802) 362-3151.

Yarns for Your Soul is located at 605 Depot St. in Manchester Center. Shop hours are 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sundays.
