MANCHESTER>> Green Mountain Academy will host a talk on Vermont politics and the 2016 election on Tuesday June 14 at 5:30 p.m. at the Manchester Community Library. WPTZ reporter Stewart Ledbetter will address the changes that are in store for Vermont this election year. This talk will examine the current election landscape in the Green Mountain State. Some insight will be offered into how the establishment and news media cover Vermont politics and the Legislature, and Ledbetter will share his observations and stories from his time spent on the road covering U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders' improbable run for the presidency this year.
Stewart Ledbetter is the senior reporter for Channels 5 and 31, Vermont's NBC stations, and moderator of "Vermont This Week," the weekly journalism roundtable on Vermont PBS. Over the years, he has received twenty first-place AP awards for his coverage of major stories across Vermont and upstate New York, a regional EMMY, and a 2015 national Edward R. Murrow Award. In December, the Vermont Association of Broadcasters honored him with its Award for Distinguished Service. Registration for the talk is $15 in advance or $20 at the door.
