ARLINGTON >> The Arlington Memorial High School and Middle School choruses will hold their annual Spring Choral Concert, Thursday, May 17, at 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. in the Mack Performing Arts Center. The same concert is performed twice. The event is free and open to the community.
The AMHS concert, "Season of Life," will highlight various show tunes including songs from "Pippin," "American Idiot," "Fiddler on the Roof" and various Disney productions. In addition to the choruses, the AMHS Madrigals, a select group of choral singers and Patti's Angels, an all-girl singing group will perform as well as AMHS Senior Janessa Hoyt who will perform several solos. The Fisher Elementary School Chorus will present "I Need a Vacation" on Thursday, May 19, at 6 p.m. in the Mack Performing Arts Center. The Fisher Chorus, comprised of students in Grades 3, 4 and 5, will perform a medley of songs featuring summertime fun like fishing and baseball.
Arlington Choral Director and Music teacher Patti Cody will direct both concerts.
"The Fisher Chorus songs are funny and cute and very appropriate for this time of year, when the students are eager to be out of school," she said. "The high school songs are beautiful, and I think guests will especially enjoy the Madrigal's music from the Renaissance era."
Cody and the students will be accompanied by Pianist Nyoka Little. For more information about the Choral Concerts or the Arlington Music program, contact Cody at email@example.com or 802-375-6409.
