WASHINGTON, D.C. >> Allison Michelle Schneider became the bride of Andrew Brian Christian Shult on Saturday, March 19, 2016. The ceremony was held at the Daughters of the American Revolution Hall in the District of Columbia, and the Honorable Darrell Issa, congressman from California, performed the ceremony. A cocktail reception followed.
The bride is the daughter of John and Michelle Schneider of Port Huron, Michigan. She is a graduate of Port Huron Northern, the University of Michigan and has a master's degree from Georgetown University.
She is an active member of Daughters of the American Revolution, through which she supports military service members and their families. As well, she has worked numerous years on Capitol Hill, most recently as the communications director for a member of Congress. She is the granddaughter of Dorothy Porrett of Port Huron.
The groom, originally from Manchester,Vermont, is the son of Brian and Victoria Shult of Pawleys Island, SC and the grandson of the late Rose and Milton Shult of El Campo, TX and of the late Burnley Welsh Dawson of Richmond, VA. He is a graduate of The Westminster School in Simsbury, CT and the University of Richmond. He is a first lieutenant in the Army Reserves and serves as company commander of the 949th Transportation Company in Baltimore, Maryland.
The couple met in Virginia when they worked together on a political campaign. Both now work in Washington, DC. The bride is employed at Locust Street Group, a public relations firm, and the groom is digital director for the House Oversight Committee on Capitol Hill.
The bride wore a Truvelle gown of almond chiffon with a skirt of rose gold sequin and carried a bible given to her by her grandmother, Arlene Fedelem Schneider. The Matron of Honor was Ashley Wineland, sister to the bride, and bridesmaids included Allison Anderson and Arla Burnley Newton, sister of the groom. The Best Man was Al DeLorenzo and ushers were Alex Weber and Dan Letovsky.
