MANCHESTER >> Families and schools can now obtain professional comprehensive, diagnostic, learning evaluations locally, at The Tutorial Center in Manchester. Responding to community requests, The Tutorial Center has added this important diagnostic service that was previously only available far outside of the Manchester/Bennington region.
"When parents are trying to figure out why their child is struggling, having to drive two or more hours for a qualified evaluation can create an added burden. Now that these assessments are available in southern Vermont, more parents can take advantage of this powerful resource for their child. That means more successful children," said Jack Glade, the center's executive director.
The Tutorial Center's certified assessors provide thorough evaluations that include neurocognitive functioning in the areas of reading, writing, math, and executive functions. Evaluation reports include recommendations for parents and schools in how to provide the student with the best support for successful learning.
"The reasons for a student's academic weakness or struggle aren't always obvious," explains manager Barb Croft. "Parents and schools can now arrange for certified evaluations locally that help uncover the key underlying issues that are interfering with success. Pinpointing these causes can be a key first step to steering a student on to a successful educational path."
