DORSET >> The Dorset Historical Society's April Third Thursday Lunchtime Lecture features Gary Shattuck on opiates and their backstory in the Green Mountain State. Shattuck will give a PowerPoint presentation and discuss the wide use of these drugs in Vermont, tracing the tale from the 18th century into the early 20th.
A past member of the Vermont State Police, Shattuck is also a former Assistant Attorney General of Vermont, and a former Assistant U.S. Attorney with the Justice Dept. He is also the author of two books on Vermont history.
