BENNINGTON >> Southern Vermont College (SVC) will be offering a variety of online and in classroom options this summer for individuals who want to earn extra credit toward their degree or to explore a topic for fun or professional development. Summer classes are being offered in three different sessions: session I from May 23 to July 1; session 2 from July 5 to Aug. 12, and session 3 from May 23 to Aug. 12.
Individuals who are interested in taking a summer course or two, including current college students as well as college graduates, professionals and commuting high school juniors and seniors (in good academic standing) may sign up at this time. Courses on campus include English Composition I and II, Music through Guitar, and Philosophy. The rest of the classes will be off campus and online including Introduction to Healthcare I; Accounting Fundamentals; Personal Financial Management; Foundations of Economics; Business Law; Exercise Science; Fundamentals of Academic Computing; Marketing Fundamentals; Topics: American Southern Culture; History of Rock and Roll; Statistics; Nutrition; Lifespan Development; Sociology; and Race, Ethnicity, Gender and Class.
The cost for a four-credit course is $1,800 (other than nursing and radiologic sciences). Most of the courses may be audited (non-credit) for $250 (on a space-available basis). High school juniors and seniors may also consider taking classes at a reduced rate or may qualify for two free courses through SVC's Dual Enrollment options.
