MANCHESTER - There is organic food and gourmet mushrooms growing all around - for free and it tastes fresher than anything available at the grocery store.

Alan Benoit will start a talk set for Thursday, March 20, beginning at 7 p.m. by sharing his favorite tasty finds with the audience. You will be amazed at the treats he has harvested in nearby forests and fields. Next, local AmeriCorps member Lynnette Volden will discuss how to forage, cook, and store the United States' most easily hunted and delicious mushrooms. Tips will be offered on what to look for, when to find them, and how to make your haul last through the winter. She will even share her recipes for wild mushroom lasagna and risotto.
