The Conservation Commission is interested locating some of the big/old tree survivors, which may be hidden away in some deserted corner of the town. The only requirement is that the tree be in the Town of Londonderry. With all the environmental stresses on the plant world it is always reassuring to find trees, which continue to flourish despite the odds.
Winter is a great time to get out in the woods and it is easier to size up the trees when they are not hidden in foliage. We are particularly seeking out butternuts, which are in decline around Vermont.
Please feel free to enter as many trees as you think are worth noting Send your entries to LCC at email@example.com The winners will be announced on Arbor Day, April 25.
