MANCHESTER - The Northshire Bookstore has announced the start of their annual Book Angel Program for the 2013 season. The program endeavors to put books into the hands of children that otherwise do not own or have access to them.

The Northshire solicits names from approximately 20 area schools and organizations, requesting that age, grade, interests, and reading levels be included so that a match can be made between a child and a book. Anonymity is protected at all costs.

Customers can become involved in several ways: choose an angel illustrating the first name of each child and their interests from the Book Angel tree in the store to make a book match, or make a monetary donation through the register or donation cans that are placed at each register. Book club dollars and gift cards may also be donated.

For every five books purchased the Northshire donates one. Additionally, if there is someone a person would like to recognize or commemorate a milestone, they can contribute an honorary tribute gift to the Book Angel Program. In return the program will give the person who contributed the honorary gift a certificate to send and announce their gift.
