SARATOGA, N.Y. - "The First Phone Call from Heaven," by Mitch Albom, tells the story of a small town on Lake Michigan that gets worldwide attention when its citizens start receiving phone calls from the afterlife. Is it the greatest miracle ever or a massive hoax?

Albom will be part of an ongoing series sponsored by the Northshire Bookstore known as "Off the Shelf: Authors in Conversation with Joe Donahue."

The event is on Friday, Nov. 15 at the Holiday Inn in Saratoga, N.Y., which is located at 232 Broadway, and starts at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Albom is the author of the international bestseller Tuesdays with Morrie, the bestselling memoir of all time.

His first novel, "The Five People You Meet in Heaven," was an instant number one New York Times bestseller, as were his most recent books, "For One More Day" and "Have a Little Faith." All four books were made into acclaimed television films.

Tickets are $32.50 for one seat and one copy of Albom's The First Phone Call from Heaven, or $40 for two seats and one copy of the book.
