MANCHESTER - Village Picture Shows and Green Mountain Academy will be collaborating on the 10th Annual Indie Blitz from Sept. 6 - Oct. 3.

Presentations will include 13 of the highest rated and most well received independent films of 2013.

The 10th Annual Indie Blitz will be the first collaboration of many between the Green Mountain Academy and Village Picture Shows. Plans are to screen internationally acclaimed ballet, opera and other special live presentations in the theatre beginning in October after the Indie Blitz concludes.

Films being shown in this year's Indie Blitz are:
Sept. 6-12: "Blackfish," "The Way Way Back."
Sept. 13-19: "20 Feet From Stardom," "Letters to Jackie" (with live streaming of actor Chris Cooper), "Before Midnight."
Sept. 20-26: "Ain't Them Bodies Saints," "Blue Jasmine," "Fruitvale Station," "The Hunt."
Sept. 27-Oct. 3: "The World's End," "The Act of Killing," "A Hijacking," "Prince Avalanche."

Village Picture Shows is located at 263 Depot Street in Manchester Center.

All events will be advertised widely - in the newspapers, on both Green Mountain Academy and Village Picture Shows' websites, Facebook pages, and via tweets and email notifications. Films are subject to change.
