MANCHESTER - Physicians and administration from Southwestern Vermont Health Care invite the public to join them for a free discussion of the future of health care July 10 at 5 p.m. at the Maple Street School. The Northshire Regional Advisory Board is the event's lead sponsor. The Northshire Regional Advisory Board is a group of citizens from throughout the Northshire who gather regularly to advise the hospital and health system on matters of community interest. It also is sponsored by the Manchester and the Mountains Chamber of Commerce and Equinox Village.

"Health care is changing rapidly," explained Alan Weigand, chairman of the advisory board and member of the SVHC Foundation Board of Directors. "People are concerned about how these changes will affect their care and how Southwestern Vermont Health Care is working with Dartmouth-Hitchcock to prepare for the challenges of transforming the health care system. This is an opportunity for our community to hear first hand from the health system's leaders and to ask questions."

The forum will feature Tom Dee, the health system's president and CEO; Dr. Trey Dobson, chief medical officer and the site medical director for Dartmouth-Hitchcock Putnam Physicians; Dr. Robert Schwartz, Dorset resident and physician at the SVMC Northshire Campus; Dr. Joshua Samuelson, medical director of the SVMC Northshire Campus, and Scott Erickson, director of satellite operations.

"This will be a great opportunity for our community to learn about how SVHC and Dartmouth-Hitchcock are putting additional emphasis on meeting the needs of the Northshire," Weigand added. "We hope community members will join us to learn more."
