MANCHESTER - Maple Street School sixth grader, Ava Zilkha, had an idea. She wanted to raise money to donate to the Manchester Village Picture Show campaign. Along with her schoolmates, Zilkha set up a bake sale during recess and at a weekend hockey tournament at a Riley Rink. Over $400 was raised from these efforts.
Inspired by Ava's initiative, the student council of Maple Street decided to combine the proceeds from a recent dance with the bake sale proceeds to donate a total of $1,000 to the campaign for the theater.
Maple Street School is an independent day school serving children in grades Kindergarten through eighth grade. For more information about the school, call Admissions Director Jeff Barclay at (802) 362-7137 or visit on the web at www.maplestreetschool.com.
