MANCHESTER - This March and April, the Community Food Cupboard will again be participating in the Feinstein Challenge. For the sixteenth consecutive year, the Feinstein Foundation of Rhode Island is offering a million dollar grant to help fight hunger across the country. Donations made to CFC during March and April will help to bring a portion of that grant to the Northshire area.

The Community Food Cupboard has provided groceries to local families in need for more than twenty years. Last year, the CFC assisted about 1,000 individuals. Gifts at this time will go even further to help the CFC keep their shelves stocked through spring.

Those who wish to make a contribution may send it to CFC, P.O. Box 864, Manchester Center, VT 05255. Donations of non-perishable food are counted at one dollar per pound for the grant and may be left in the collection box in the Manchester town office building or Shaw's Supermarket.

For more information about CFC or the Feinstein Challenge, call 362-0057 or visit in person at the Manchester town office building. CFC is open on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 to 4 p.m. and Wednesdays from 2 to 4 p.m.
